51th Session (May-June 2009)

Six countries were analysed by the CRC Committee at this session:  Bangladesh; France; Mauritania; Niger; Sweden and Romania.  Oman and slovenia were revised on the implementation of two optional protocols to the Convention, on involvement of children in armed conflict (OPAC) and on sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography (OPSC).

All of the Concluding Observations adopted by the CRC Committee during its last session include references to children with disabilities, which shows the increasing attention paid to persons/children with disabilities by the various treaty bodies.

During this session, CRC adopted a new General Comment, on the rights of the child to be heard, that include a number of references to persons with disabilities.
