The 16th session of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is set to open on Monday 15 August.

During this session, the Committee will review Uruguay, Ethiopia, Bolivia, United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Colombia and Italy. It will also hold a public reading of upcoming General Comment on Article 24 of the Convention, on the right to inclusive education.
The Committee is also planned to make advances with the draft General Comments on Article 6 and Article 19, as well as to discuss its draft reporting guidelines and draft guidelines for participation of independent monitoring mechanisms.
