The RPwD Act mandates the Government to promote personal mobility of PwDs. The Government is also implementing a scheme namely Assistance to Disabled Persons For Purchase/Fitting of Aids/Appliances (ADIP) scheme for providing aids and assistive derives to PwDs in order to enabling them to participate in the society. Government has set up Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) for providing affordable and quality assistive devices to PwDs.
