The Palestine Ministry of Social Affairs is a leader in the social protection sector, seeking in partnership and with coordination with the ministries, government institutions, civil society organizations and the private sector and international organizations, to provide social protection for the Palestinian people, through programs in areas of protection, care and prevention, empowerment and awareness-based approach based on rights. Policy, legislation and its implementation
The ministry is committed to revise and update the Palestinian law for the disabled rights.

Timeframe and/or implementation plan: The ministry launched the revision process for the disable rights law for the purpose of enforcing the rights of the disabled and to guarantee that our law is harmonized with the International convention on the rights of PWD. We expect to complete this process by mid 2019.

Access to financial services
The ministry is committed to include PWD in financial services  through microcredit program. This is an ongoing program. The ministry implements a microcredit program for PWD to support their productivity and self reliance through  small enterprises.

Access to decent work
MoSD guarantee access for PWD to employment. The government is committed to secure the quota of employment of  5% for the disabled .This policy is being implemented on annual basis in civil service.

Commit resources to support strengthened disability data
The ministry is committed to build a national data base for the disabled.

The ministry started preparations for building the disabled data base; we expect to complete this task by 2020.
