Advisory Committee

Pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 5/1, the Human Rights Council Advisory Committee, composed of 18 experts, was established to function as a think-tank for the Council.

The Advisory Committee is implementation-oriented. The scope of its advice is limited to thematic issues pertaining to the mandate of the Council, namely, promotion and protection of all human rights. The Committee currently adopts recommendations to the HRC including on substantive topics and indicating areas where it feels future work should be done.

IDA advocates for the integration of the rights of persons with disabilities in the recommendations of the Advisory Committee of the Human Rights Council.
