IDA monitors the work of the Committee against Torture (CAT) and advocates for the mainstreaming of the rights of persons with disabilities in its mandate. Additionally, IDA provides input into the elaboration of General Comments by the CAT Committee

48th Session (May 2012)
The Committee against Torture will be holding its 48th session from 7 May – 1 June 2012.

IDA’s recommendations for Concluding Observations, and IDA’s disability analysis of the State reports. The European Network of (ex-) Users and Survivors of Psychiatry and the European Disability Forum made a joint submission on the Czech Republic.

The Committee will also adopt lists of issues on Senegal, Togo, Tajikistan and Qatar.
