7th Session (16-20 April 2012)
The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities met for its 7th session from 16 - 20 April 2012 during which it examined the report of Peru and adopted list of issues on Argentina, China and Hungary. For the first time, the session was webcast live by IDA at http://www.treatybodywebcast.org (the archived videos of the public opening and review of Peru will be available at the same website).

The submission of REDI (Red por los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad), the Argentine network of cross disability DPOs, is available in English and Spanish; and the Hungarian Disability Caucus made submissions in the form of a parallel report and a specific submission on the list of issues. IDA made three separate submissions on China, Hong Kong and Macao. Further submissions by DPOs and NGOs concerning China and Hong Kong are available on the Committee’s 7th session website.
IDA sponsored two side events (one on mainland China and Hong Kong) and one on Hungary and Argentina, during which DPO representatives conveyed information to the CRPD Committee members. IDA also facilitated a private meeting of the Committee with the Peruvian DPO representatives prior to the start of the constructive dialogue with the Government of Peru.
