Days of General Discussion
The Committee devoted one day of its October sessions in 2009 and 2010 to a general discussion of a particular provision of the Convention.
The purpose of these general discussions is threefold: such a general discussion assist the Committee in developing in greater depth its interpretation of the relevant issues; it enables the Committee to encourage inputs into its work from all interested parties; and helps the Committee to lay the basis for a future general comment.
