Social Protection
The International Labour Organisation is currently working on Recommendation on a Social Protection Floor that will be negotiated in June 2012 at the International Labour Conference. This Recommendation should encourage countries to sign up to a minimum level of protection, to increase the number of persons covered as well as the level of coverage. It is important that the Recommendation include persons with disabilities, and in a way that is consistent with the CRPD. Accordingly, the International Disability Alliance has prepared a position paper indicating some key points we would like to see addressed by this Recommendation.
