World Health Organization
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
IDA has established a permanent relationship with WHO. In 2010/2011 most of the co-operation related to the finalisation of the World Disability Report produced by the WHO and the World Bank. IDA Chair attended the launch of this Report both in New York and Geneva.
