Overview of the 11th Session of the COSP
The 11th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will take place from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 June 2018 at UN Headquarters in New York. On Monday 11 June, a Civil Society CRPD Forum will be held to complement the Conference.

Themes and Sub-themes
The overarching theme of the Conference is “Leaving no one behind through the full implementation of the CRPD”. Three round tables will address the following themes:

  • Roundtable One: National fiscal space, public-private partnerships and international cooperation for strengthening the implementation of the CRPD
  • Roundtable Two: Women and girls with disabilities
  • Roundtable Three: Political participation and equal recognition before the law

Cross-cutting theme: Promoting high-quality disability statistics and disaggregation of data by disability status for the full realization of the rights of persons with disabilities.

Vice-Presidents: Tunisia (African Group), Sri Lanka (Asia-Pacific Group), Ecuador (Latin American and Caribbean Group) and Germany (Western European and Others Group)

Civil Society CRPD Forum

The Civil Society CRPD Forum will take place on Monday 11 June, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Conference Room 4 of the UN HQ. 

Communications

  • During the Civil Society Forum (11 June), we will be using hashtag: #CSFCRPD
  • During the CoSP (12-14), we will be using hashtags: #CRPD and #COSPCRPD11

Registration hours for picking up passes for civil society

The registration hours for the desk in the UN Pass and ID office will be the following:

  • Sunday 10 June 2018: 1-4pm
  • Monday 11 June 2018: 8-12.30pm / 2-4pm
  • Tuesday 12 June 2018: 7am-12pm / 2-4pm
  • Wednesday 13 June 2018: 9am-12.30pm / 2-4pm
  • Thursday 14 June 2018: 9-11.30am

The first registration will take place in the United Nations Pass and ID office located at 320 East 45th Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenue).

Please note that due to UN Security, the daily secondary tickets will be required for the entrance to the conference room 4. The daily secondary ticket will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis, starting on Tuesday 12 June at 7.30am (UNDESA’s Staff will be there to help you) located at the visitor’s lobby of the UN General Assembly building, on First Avenue and 46th Street, New York, NY 10017.
