Nellie Caleb (Co-Chair, Pacific Disability Forum) OHCHR Expert meeting on climate change and human rights

Nelly Caleb, Co-chair of the Pacific Disability Forum, and representative to IDA, is participating in the expert meeting on climate change and human rights from October 6th to 7th. She is a speaker on the panel discussion on representations and dialogue on the rights if persons, groups and peoples disproportionately impacted by climate change.

The Expert Meeting on Climate Change and Human Rights brings together States, civil society organizations, UN Agencies including the special rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities , Ms. Catalina Devandas Aguilar; the special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples , Ms. Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, as well as the Special Rapporteur and on the right to food Ms. Hilal Elver and experts to consider the implications of recent State commitments, including in the Paris Agreement to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, related to human rights and climate change. The meeting includes both expert panel discussions and interactive breakout groups.
