On 10 and 11 May 2009, IDA (CRPD Forum) organized a CRPD Seminar for the Arab region in Cairo, Egypt. Participating organizations represented countries across the Middle East and North Africa, including but not limited to Lebanon, Yemen, Morocco, Sudan and Palestine.
The seminar was co-hosted by the Civil Society department of the Arab League and the IDA (CRPD Forum) Steering Committee member organization in the region, the Arab Organization of Disabled People (AODP).
Targeted discussions addressed regional efforts made to implement the CRPD, convention elements relevant to specific disabilities, and shared experiences.
