Latin America Seminar (Panama City, May 2007)

On 31 May 2007, IDA sponsored a seminar in Latin America on the newly signed Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Participating organizations represented countries across the region, including but not limited to Chile, Mexico, Ecuador and Cuba.

The seminar received funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Panamanian government.

Targeted discussions addressed inclusive education, access to communication and disabilities in an environment of extreme poverty, among others.
