This course will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to apply Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) to specific contexts relevant to persons with disabilities in your community. 

After taking the course, you will be able to: 

  • understand and explain the difference between substitute and supported decision-making, and legal capacity and mental capacity(knowledge);
  • analyse legislation and practices for compliance with CRPD Article 12 (skills);
  • make and defend proposals to address gaps in compliance with CRPD Article 12 in specific contexts (confidence).
