Policy, legislation and its implementation
The Jigawa State Rehabilitation Board is a public organisation with focus on the protection, promotion and development of Persons with Disabilities, since the establishment of the Board in 2007, it committed to the implementation of good policies for the plight of PWDs. others include Social Security Allowances to over 7,000  PWDs.

In 2016 with support from DFID, a Law for Safeguarding the interests and welfare of PWDs was enacted, this is second to Lagos state.

Timeframe and/or implementation plan
The Law came out at the same time with  State Social Protection Policy and implementation framework has been put in place: Establishment of  Social Protection Council, March 2018, Establishment of Disability Trust Fund Technical Working Group (TWG), April 2018 and Launching of Disability Trust Fund 1st Oct 2018. His Excellency the Deputy Governor is the Council Chairman while Commissioner for Finance  and Economic Planning is the chair for Disability Trust Fund.
