Representation and empowerment of persons with disabilities
Chance for Childhood will, together with Rwandan partners such as RNUD, UWEZO and Empowering Children with Disabilities (EmCD) continue to document the barriers to participation faced by children and young people with Communication Disabilities, and ensure they are adequately represented in Disability Groups, both at national and district levels, in turn increasing opportunities to have their voices heard and demand inclusion .

Timeframe and/or implementation plan
By 2020, Chance for Childhood will work with our Rwandan partners to set up and strengthen local young people led disability groups which represent the rights of children and young people living with communication disabilities, ensuring their voices are listened to and that appropriate channels are known and effective for them to demand inclusion and meaningful participation in all aspects of community life.
