Stereotypes, attitudes and behaviours
BBC Media Action commits to: producing creative, thought-provoking media programming which tackles stigma, discrimination and negative social norms related to disability; giving voice to people with disabilities throughout our media content; providing spaces for governments to be held accountable for implementation of anti-discrimination legislation and policies; strengthening the capacity of our media partners to mainstream disability; supporting media practitioners with disabilities to take on leadership roles; and integrating disability across our audience research.

Timeframe and/or implementation plan
BBC Media Action will purposively seek funding to deliver high profile media and communication initiatives through which we can fulfil our commitments. We already reflect disability in our audience research and provide voice to people with disabilities within certain media content. However, we will develop guidance for staff over the next year to ensure that this happens consistently across all our work. We will build on partnerships with disability specialist organisations to support this process.
