General Comment

The Human Rights Committee completed their first reading of Draft General Comment no 34 on the freedom of expression. The latest version of this draft has been posted on the website of the Human Rights Committee. Civil society organisations are invited to send their feedback and comments to the Committee Secretariat by 30 January 2011. Comments should be sent to ccpr [at] ohchr.org. IDA will be making a submission to the Secretariat highlighting the right to freedom of expression, including the right to information, of persons with disabilities.

Task Forces

The HRC’s Country Report Task Force considered and adopted Lists of Issues on reports submitted by Jamaica, Bulgaria, Guatemala, Kuwait and Ivory Coast.
