The International Committee of the Red Cross Physical Rehabilitation Programme (PRP) is committed to improving the availability and affordability of assistive devices.
Timeframe and/or implementation plan
By the end of 2019, the ICRC will build upon 40 years of assistive technology and service provision experience to deliver a broader range of high quality PRP-developed assistive devices than is currently provided, and post a 25% reduction in the average cost. Through new partnerships and support for sector-wide initiatives, ICRC-developed assistive devices will be made available to a broader range of service providers to facilitate distribution to the widest possible group of users.
Join Global Partnership for Assistive Technology
The International Committee of the Red Cross commits to joining the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology.
Timeframe and/or implementation plan
In 2018 the International Committee of the Red Cross Physical Rehabilitation Programme will join the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology, providing technical expertise, sharing knowledge and coordinating practices in order to leverage its experience and products for the advancement of the worldwide rehabilitation sector.
