The tenth session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will take place from Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 June 2017 at UN Headquarters in New York. The overarching theme of the Conference is “The Second Decade of the CRPD: Inclusion and full participation of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations in the implementation of the Convention”. Three round tables will address the following themes:
- Round Table One: Addressing the impact of multiple discrimination for persons with disabilities and promoting their participation and multi-stakeholder partnerships for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in line with the CRPD
- Round Table Two: Inclusion and full participation of persons with disabilities in humanitarian action (in line with Article 11 of the CRPD “Situations of Risk and Humanitarian Emergencies”)
- Round Table 3: Promoting inclusive urban development and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda – Habitat III (in line with Article 9 of the CRPD “Accessibility”
The COSP Bureau has invited civil society, through the Civil Society Coordination Mechanism (CSCM), to select a civil society co-chair for each of the round tables. Co-chairs are required to co-moderate the round table with a high-level Member State representative of the COSP Bureau. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise on the round table theme for which they are applying. Experience in facilitation of high-level events (national, regional or global) is required. Strong proficiency in writing is preferred.
Applicants must be able to cover the cost of any flights, visas, accommodation and daily expenses. Applicants who require funding will not be considered. Formulaire de candidature: Coprésidence de la Société Civile - Tables rondes thématiques
DATE LIMITE DE CANDIDATURE: dimanche 23 avril
La dixième session de la Conférence des États Parties (COP) à la Convention relative aux Droits des Personnes Handicapées se tiendra du mardi 13 au jeudi 15 juin 2017, à New York au siège de l'ONU. Le lundi 12 juin, un Forum de la société civile sur la CDPH viendra compléter la Conférence. Le thème global de la Conférence est « La seconde décennie de la CDPH : l'inclusion et la pleine participation des personnes handicapées et de leurs organisations représentatives à la mise en œuvre de la Convention». Trois tables rondes aborderont les thèmes suivants:
- Première Table Ronde : L'impact des discriminations multiples sur les personnes handicapées et la promotion leur participation à des partenariats multipartites pour atteindre les Objectifs du Développement Durable dans le respect de la CDPH.
- Seconde table Ronde: L’insertion et la participation pleine et entière des personnes handicapées à l'action humanitaire (dans le respect de l'article 11 de la CDPH « Situations de risque et situations d'urgence humanitaire »)
- Troisième Table ronde : La promotion d’un développement urbain inclusif et la mise en œuvre de l'Agenda urbain - Habitat III (dans le respect de l'article 9 de la CDPH "Accessibilité")
Le Bureau de la COP a invité la société civile, par le biais du Mécanisme de Coordination de la Société Civile (MCSC), à désigner un coprésident de la société civile pour chacune des tables rondes. Les coprésidents sont tenus de modérer la table ronde en partenariat avec un représentant de haut niveau des États membres et représentant le Bureau de la COP. Les candidats doivent avoir une capacité d’expertise reconnue sur le thème de la Table Ronde à laquelle ils postulent. Une expérience de l’animation d'événements de haut niveau (sur le plan national, régional ou international) est requise. Une solide maîtrise de la rédaction de documents est souhaitée.
Les candidats doivent être en mesure de financer tous leurs frais de déplacement, de visas, d’hébergement et de bouche. Les candidatures qui demandent un financement ne seront pas prises en compte.
