IDA Guidance document on reporting to UN human rights mechanisms
This guidance document provides practical, step-by-step support for Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) to engage with UN human rights mechanisms, particularly the CRPD Committee. It explains how OPDs can contribute to State reviews, prepare alternative reports, influence recommendations and use the CRPD Committee’s Concluding Observations to strengthen advocacy at the national level.
It also covers the CRPD and its key rights, the Universal Periodic Review and other UN Treaty Bodies, while providing practical examples of how OPDs around the world have used UN recommendations to advance disability rights
