Representation and empowerment of persons with disabilities
CBM is committed to being fully accountable to persons with disabilities, their families and representative organisations in all areas of the work we do. In line with CRPD article 3 we believe persons with disabilities should be their own agents of change. With our partnership approach we commit to working with more DPOs to promote all rights of persons with disabilities and their families across all areas of our programmes, advocacy, humanitarian and advisory work.

Timeframe and/or implementation plan
This is a central commitment of CBM’s 2023 strategy and a core CBM programme standard. We will continue to work to improve our engagement with persons with disabilities and their representative organisations in all areas of our programming, advocacy and technical advisory work with a specific focus to address the stigma and discrimination experienced by persons with disabilities and support transformative change for all.
