Women and Girls with Disabilities are worst hit by poverty and all other vulnerability index, therefore to ensure that women and girls with disabilities are squarely protected in every spheres humanly possible, the Jigawa State Rehabilitation Board was key for the development of Jigawa State Gender Policy. This in collaborations with the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, SAVI, DFID, SPARC DFID and State key Ministries of Budget, Health and Empowerment.

Institute the culture of respect for the human rights of women and men, including freedom of expression and the elimination of all negative stereotypical representation of women and girls and presentation of gender issues at various levels of the information dissemination and communication chain by 2013.
